WGC Super Seniors
Valerie Monteith has been a member of our team since 2000. She took 7 years off because of medical reasons and missed gymnastics the entire time. After being released to do gym again, she came back in 2008 and worked incredibly hard and once again is competing and doing a wonderful job. We are so proud of her persistence and determination to compete again.
Valerie plans to attend college in the Wichita area next year and plans to major in music and hopefully on a scholarship. She is great on the harp. We will miss her smile and pleasant attitude.
Kelsey Ondek has been a member of WGC on and off since age 4. She decided to rejoin the team two years ago and is enjoying competing again. Her determination and love of the sport is refreshing, and she has elevated her interest into judging and is presently a rated judge. Kelsey is also active in dance and has performed numerous plays at her school.
Her future plans include colleges in either Florida or Nebraska and becoming a pharmacist. We are so proud of her drive and enthusiasm for the future. Thanks for being a part of our family, and we will miss you. Best of luck in all you do!
Kara Wheeler has been a member of Wichita Gymnastics for almost 14 years. As a graduating senior, we will surely miss her presence in the gym. She has experienced a fantastic career in gymnastics having qualified for Regionals five times. She was the 2007 Region 3 bar Champion and 2007 Western National Balance Beam Champion. Kara is tremendously talented in acting and singing, and we are so very proud of her for all her accomplishments.
Future plans are not certain, but she is pursuing scholarships in both gymnastics and diving and looking into various colleges throughout the nation. Most of all, we will miss Kara's positive attitude, high moral standards, and tenacious work ethic. With all she has going for her, we are sure she will be a great success in whatever she pursues. You know we love you and wish nothing but happiness and love in your future.
